Tates Creek tops Central 11-3

GEORGETOWN -- Noah Metcalfe turned in an outstanding performance during Madison Central's 2-1 win over Tates Creek on April 30 in Richmond. On Tuesday, the teams met again. And once again Metcalfe was on the mound. This time around, however, things turned out much differently. Metcalfe didn't make it out of the first inning as #2 Tates Creek (30-7) took control early and rolled to an 11-3 win over the #6 Indians (27-10) in the semifinals of the 11th Region Tournament.

11th Region Baseball: Indians slip past Scott County 1-0

Lucas Myers had a little extra motivation when he took the mound against Scott County on Monday afternoon at Don Richardson Field. He wanted to erase some bad memories. "I gave up four runs against them last year," Myers said. "I was looking for a little bit of revenge." In last year's 11th Region Tournament title game, the Cardinals put together a big late rally, which included a two-run homer off of Myers. The Indians hung for an 8-6 win. A year later, Myers faced the Cardinals again in another pressure-packed situation.
