Bradley junior outfielder Isaac Smith (Richmond, Ky./Madison Central H.S.) is one of 12 players on the Capital One Academic All-District V Baseball Team, as determined by the College Sports Information Directors of America.
Carrying a 3.46 cumulative grade point average as a finance major, Smith has earned a spot on the Bradley Athletic Director's Honor Roll in each of his first five semesters. After appearing in just 26 games with 10 starts during his first two seasons, Smith has enjoyed a breakout season on the diamond the spring. He ranked among the nation's top hitters throughout the first half of the season and begins this week batting .331 in 43 games, including 40 as the starting centerfielder. Smith also leads the Braves with 17 stolen bases, shares the team lead with four sacrifice flies and is second with seven sacrifice bunts.
Smith is the only Missouri Valley Conference representative from the five schools located in CoSIDA's District V (Illinios, Indiana, Michigan and Ohio) and is one of five Valley players overall to earn district recognition. As a member of the Academic All-District V team, Smith now becomes eligible for Capital One Academic All-America consideration.
