The final outcome of the showdown between rivals #20 Madison Central and #24 Scott County at the 11th Region Tournament Monday wasn’t decided in the first inning.
 But, it certainly seemed that way. The Cardinals (22-13) scored five times in the opening inning and never relinquished that lead. They added four more runs in the third and went on to pick up an 11-3 win over the Indians at Don Richardson Field. Scott advances to today’s semifinals and will take on Woodford County at 8 p.m. The Indians (21-13) scored two runs in the bottom of the first, but never really got back in the game. “There were physical errors — misplaying balls — but, that’s the game of baseball,” Central assistant coach David Withers said. “Those are going to happen. They also had some timely hits that found no-man’s land.” The Indians finished with seven hits, but also committed five errors.
